Our season will begin with a meeting for all on September 30th at 10 am, main lodge.

This is for all; returning instructors, new certified or not yet certified, as well as TA’s. The goal of the meeting is to answer questions, clarify expectations, explain the various programs and opportunities. And in the end give you time to plan for a good winter.

Parents are welcome to attend and take note of the desired commitment.

The December training schedule will be forwarded later this fall, suffice to say once we are open it will begin.

There will be TA training, general training for returning and new certified instructors and a pre course for Level 1 candidates.

Prior to getting a SP and Jacket all instructors will need to attend at least one day of session, be certified and up to date as well as be committed to a certain day/s and program.

If you are a Snowboarder and plan on returning? Or if you were a SB TA and plan taking the course to teach?

I would like you to let me know, WD or Sat or Sun. This would help me know what we can sell.

I am also interested in gathering names of instructors that would like to commit to evening privates i.e., 615 to 715 and 730 to 830. For now, its expressions of interest. Please reply with the evenings you would consider.

To all the new people on this list, it can be a bit overwhelming but don’t worry it becomes clear as we get closer to the snow.

In closing the main thing to remember is the 30th of September.

Pass along to any people that may be committed to teaching.

Dave Morralee and I are sailing solo to raise funds for Camp Fire Circle. It will be a solo sail Friday through Sunday . Thank you in advance for any help your able to give. It is very much appreciated.

Camp has always been about community. That’s why I’m fundraising for Campfire Circle, in support of kids affected by childhood cancer, and their families.

I have amazing news to share! Camp-inspired experiences lost to childhood cancer and the pandemic, like fun, friendship and community still happening year-round at Campfire Circle, and they need us!

Together, we can help kids and families access the healing through happiness that only Campfire Circle can deliver. Join the circle and donate to my campaign—because we are the spark that makes Campfire Circle burn bright!

I hope you’ll visit my personal fundraising page here https://support.campfirecircle.org/solo-sail/solo-sail-in-support-of-campfire-circle and make your secure online gift today.

Academy news June 13

Hi all,

I know its early but wanted to keep you thinking of winter for at least a moment or two.

Plans for the up-coming season.

We will be holding a general meeting in October.  Date TBD,

At the general meeting, instructors will give their commitments to the school, thus creating a list. It is important that we know how many people plan on teaching as early as possible.

Program supervisors will draft from the list. Pending on snow training and instructor participation.

As soon as possible we will be holding on snow training for both returning and new instructors.

On snow training will focus on teaching, group management and risk management.

 Ce que nous recherchons chez nos instructeurs; What we look for in our instructors;

  • Do what you claim you will do. As to what you commit to.
  • Being engaged and positive, ready to teach when called upon.
  • Being prepared i.e.; a lesson plan either written or in your head, a to do list of sorts.
  • Being a team player. • Avoir l’esprit d’équipe.
  • Improving your skills (sessions). • Améliorer vos compétences (séances d’entrainement)
  •  Looking/acting like a pro (uniform). • Ressembler / agir comme un pro (uniforme)
  •  Upgrading your abilities and if possible, your certifications.

Program times will be changing this season,

9-week programs will begin at 9 am. Lessons will be 9 to 1030, 11 to 1230 and 130 to 3 pm. The aim is to better align with the privates, and avoid the 3pm on slot of evening passes. This will also leave time for extra privates if program instructors wish to make extra $.

Performance will run 930 to 12 and 1pm to 3pm,
