Academy News Dec 6

The new and improved plan 😒 Oh que ça va mal a shop avec la météo, encore un changement de plan.

Dec 10th 11th

The hill will not be open this weekend.

TA training #1 is pushed back to the 17th and 18th

The pre course won’t run this weekend as we will not be open, we will have some training on the 16th if available and the 17-18 for those taking the course in Jan. It’s unfortunate but with the challenging weather snowmaking is slow.

As to refunds for the pre course , It could be refunded if you return the pass ( unused), but then you  would spend more on lift tickets during the course, so it makes no sense to do so, unless you were planning on taking the course elsewhere, if that is the case see us this weekend between 10 30 and 12 30.

If you have a pre course lift pass it will work during your course in Dec or Jan. Once you have passed, we will reload it as an instructor pass.

Risk Management and best practices 10am

Certified instructors are invited to meet with supervisors 10;30 to 12;30 and once activated get their coats

Dec 17th 18th

Level 1 CSIA & CASI be here before 9 am

TA training #2 be here before 9 am on snow at 10 am

Risk Management and best practices 10am

Certified instructors on snow with supervisors 10;30 to 12;30 / 1;30 to 3;30.

Academy Sad News

One of our long-time instructors has passed, Elgin Marsden. Elgin’s family asked that we let his fellow instructors know.

I know you join me in expressing sympathies to family and friends, Elgin was part of our team for decades, always keen to be of help and wanting to improve his skills as a skier and teacher. Like all of us I believe he was proud to be part of our team.

There is a service this Tuesday, November 15 at 11 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 2345 Alta Vista Drive in Ottawa.
