Acdemy News – Dec 3, 17

Hey all,

Yesterday’s Hiring Clinic was well attended. Great to see so many new people planning on joining our team, hoping that we see you all take the pre-course,  and work towards your certification.

Je veux aussi souligner que les sessions pour les aides moniteur,  moniteur et le pré-stage, débute la fin de semaine prochaine. So to that end, I would expect our staff to be here over the next couple of weekends in order to get up to speed technically and be ready for the holiday season .

Performance Programs will be looking for a few good Men/ Women , if your able to commit speak with Clayton  cpolan@bell.net  next weekend . This is a 15 day program beginning Dec 16th.

Privates Program, these are the instructors that commit to privates and get booked for Sat and or Sun all winter. if your able to commit contact Roger or SJ for now please contact sjnormand@gmail.com

All program supervisors will be drafting people from the active list so be sure you get organized in order to be selected, this does not apply to our new candidates you will be added in as you get cert.

Hill will be open next Friday , Sat and Sun.  see you then.

Academy News: Dec 1,17

Hey all,

The hill will be open on Friday (Pinnault only), for sat and sun we will also have Meech (Paradise). Hiring clinic on Sat, looking forward to seeing our new people on snow. For our returning instructors and TAs training will begin the 9th and 10th of Dec.

Let’s all be sure we are following the blog, I know you are because you are receiving this, if a friend of yours is not please tell them to follow the blog, cause apparently they don’t listen to me (-:

Many have said they are returning, but few have completed the process. Please don’t wait till the last minute to get it done.

If anyone is not returning  to teach we would appreciate the jacket being returned before we have to go looking for it.

Remember the food bank box in the pro room, please and thank you.

Academy News – Nov 23, 17

Hello all

The hill will be open this weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 9 to 4 pm. The season is promising to be a good one.

Only returning instructors will be able to get a pass, as long as they are active and up to date in the system.

New instructors and candidates will be starting on Dec 2nd, and TAs will get started on their first training weekend on either the 9th and 10th or the 16th 17th of Dec. Lists will be produced based on the registration lists on the Academy web site.

For those wanting to ski or ride and who need to purchase a ticket, the rate is 20$

Snowmaking report: Pinnault will be open this weekend, and snowmaking has moved to Meech,  but unsure if we will be able to open Paradise by the weekend.

A reminder to our returning instructors – don’t expect a ticket if you have not completed your activation (dues paid (need proof), completed the Academy on-line registration for returning instructors and signed your offer of service (available in in the pro-room)).

I received a call from the food bank asking if we would be helping out this season, I said we would. So if you’re able, please drop off a non-perishable item from time to time and I will make a bi-weekly run to the food bank.  We will have a box in the pro room.

Academy Flash- Nov 17,17

POP-UP bonus jacket & pass pick-up date:

So for those returning who have not yet picked up your pass & jacket, The Pro Room will be open from 9:30 to 12:30 tomorrow (Saturday).

If you have paid your association dues (show proof of payment), registered on-line as a returning instructor ( (click here) before 8:00 AM Saturday ) you can pick up your pass and jacket during this time.

Academy Flash – Nov 15, 17

If you have not yet picked up your jacket, the pro room will be open Wed, Thurs, and Fri of this week from 8:30AM to 12:30PM for those returning instructors who have completed all of the requirements (Dues paid (receipt or current membership card required), registered online as a returning instructor, and signed agreement (signed when you pick up your jacket)).

Academy News, Nov 8, 17

Hi all

Things are coming together for the season, the weather is getting colder and snowmaking is ready to go at our first opportunity.

Our General meeting is this Sunday at 10 am. The meeting will not take more than an hour,  we will be activating passes and handing out coats to returning instructors only.

In order to get pass and coat, the following must be completed:

  1. Online registration.
  2. Have your current id  (CSIA, CSCF, CASI) or proof of payment .
  3. Have a signed Instructor agreement.

The plan is to get our returning instructors processed and then we will get the new people processed after the hiring clinic is done. Let’s make sure we all have registered online and have paid our dues.

Un-certified candidates and TAs will be given passes once training begins. Until then we will produce daily tickets.

Academy News – Oct 19,17

Hi all,

Ski & snowboard show this weekend at the Ernst and Young Center, 9 to 6. Maybe some of you will drop by for a chat.  Our open house will be on the 5th of Nov and our general meeting will be the 12th of Nov.

I know that many of you are waiting for me tell you when to come up and get your jackets, passes and get activated in our new system. I am still waiting for it to be up and running, so my plan to have thing done early is being postponed. Should be able to get it all done in Nov.

Be sure you are registered on our site and remind any of your buddies to do it also.
